COMMENT| 'Batman vs Superman' will begin shooting very soon according to Amy Adams, who couldn't stop herself from revealing some minor titbits on the film while on Tuesday night's Jimmy Kimmel Show.
Adams was on the talk show to promote her latest role in David O Russell's critically acclaimed, and award's season frontrunner, 'American Hustle,' as well as her turn in Spike Jonze's 'Her.'
However, her association with 'Man Of Steel' and its impending sequel means that questions regarding Clark Kent, Krypton and comic book icons are always going to be on the horizon, and Kimmel couldn't resist probing the actress for more details on the Batman/Superman hybrid.
Kimmel started off by asking Adams when she would start work on Zack Snyder's superhero follow-up and even though she insisted that she couldn't "tell [Kimmel] anything" she still found time to note that it would be "very soon."
Adams, who played Lois Lane in 2013's 'Man Of Steel,' also confirmed that she's "just read the script," but even though Kimmel then used this opportunity to try and pry further plot details and secrets from the affable actress she insisted, "I don't know anything."
Kimmel then decided that this was the perfect time to jokingly reveal that he has also been cast in 'Man Of Steel,' confirming, "I don't know if I should this, but Ben Affleck has asked me to play Robin," before proclaiming, "It's about time there was an old, fat Robin."
As you would expect this lead to howls of laughter and an eruption of applause from the audience, and even though Kimmel tried to play down his sidekick stardom by noting, "It's not a big part," Adams was quick to show her support commenting, "I think you would be great."
Adams has already received a plethora of acting nominations for her portrayal in 'American Hustle,' which comes after she was heavily praised for her starring turn as the Daily Planet's second most famous journalist in last summer's divisive blockbuster.
It's widely believed that 'Batman vs Superman' will start filming later this month in Michigan, and you can expect more information regarding its plot and production to become public knowledge as the mammoth shoot progresses.
