It's looking more and more likely that 'Batman vs. Superman' is the precursor to a 'Justice League' film, after it was reported that The Flash's presence in the 'Man Of Steel' sequel is days away from being confirmed.
This speculation comes just a few days after Gal Gadot was confirmed as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder's eagerly anticipated follow-up, joining Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill as Batman andSuperman respectively.
Variety declared, "The plan is to have not just Batman and Superman in the film but several members of the Justice League as well. It's unclear which members, but Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) and the Flash are said to be locks to make an appearance in some fashion, whether that's a significant role or a cameo."
Flash's addition to the growing 'Batman vs Superman' ensemble might even be connected to the planned CW television series, which will revolve around the super-speeded superhero.
Greg Berlanti, who is the executive producer behind TV's 'Arrow' and 'Flash,' has insisted that there hasn't been any discussion over a possible link-up between the two mediums though.
Berlanti noted, "We haven't had any of those conversations other than to say, what characters are we allowed to use this year and advocate or request certain ones that are of interest to us. And every now and then, they'll say, 'You can't have that guy.' They don't say why, and we figure out why later on."
He then added, "Getting to participate in any way in the story - considering how much they meant to me as a kid - is really, I just feel lucky about that all the time. And it evolves the way it's supposed to…When it comes out naturally, that's when it's best. And that's been the fate of Arrow, and I guess that's the path we'll follow."
But, could the 'Justice League' film actually feature the two actors from the television series?
Stephen Amell has proven to be immensely popular in the 'Arrow' role, and if Grant Gustin can generate the same kind of acclaim as 'Flash' then DC's creative team might be tempted to bring the duo over into their cinematic universe too.
Do you think Flash will star in 'Batman vs. Superman'? Who do you think will star as the comic-book character?
