COMMENT | After casting Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, fellow 'Fast & Furious' star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson could be joining 'Batman vs. Superman' as the Green Lantern.
It looks as though DC may be assembling the Justice League ready for their big-screen debut as the Green Lantern becomes the subject of the latest casting rumours. But with both Idris Elba and Denzel Washington rumoured to be up for the part, you might be surprised by the latest actor to be linked to the role - none other than Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

According to our pal Peter Georgiou over at Think McFly Think, the 41-year-old 'Fast & Furious' star has been linked to the role of John Stewart… or the Green Lantern to fellow comic book fans.

While there's no mention of 'Batman vs. Superman' it seems likely that a Green Lantern cameo could be just another part of what's swiftly becoming DC's 'Avengers Assemble'. And after The Rock himself teased a meeting with Warner Bros. bosses to discuss future plans for a DC team-up in 2014, it looks as though an appearance in the 'Man of Steel' sequel could well be on the cards.

But will he appear as the Green Lantern?
After the rather shocking 'Green Lantern' movie starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, it's likely that Warner Bros. want to distance themselves from its earlier failings… and while it may be tempting to offer up a reboot of the Green Lantern franchise, it looks as though a change of Lantern could be the best way forward - handing over the power ring from Hal Jordan to John Stewart.
Of course, whether or not The Rock will end up starring as the Green lantern remains to be seen. But with Ben Affleck as Batman, I'd say anything's possible.
