Green Lantern had a cameo in defunct Flash movie

COMMENT | Although 'Batman vs. Superman' seems to be the foundation of the Justice League, it looks as though they may have already started to come together in 'The Flash'.
Over the past few months, we've heard plenty of rumours about DC's greatest heroes… supposedly that they will eventually appear up in the upcoming 'Batman vs. Superman' movie. With the addition of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, that's looking increasingly likely. But it looks as though those plans may have been in motion for some time as a page from 'The Flash' movie (which has since been cancelled) reveals a cameo for none other than Hal Jordan aka the Green Lantern.

According to a leaked script page courtesy of Superhero Movie News, the cameo would see the Green Lantern appearing in a post-credit scene… presumably setting the scene for a team-up with some of DC's finest.
EXT. CITY STREETS
The Flash runs - sees something ahead - skids into a hockey stop, sending asphalt SPRAYING.
But the spray STOPS IN THE AIR - landing on a GREEN SURFACE. BRILLIANT LIGHT. GIVEN SOLID FORM.
The Light drops. The dust settles.
GREEN LANTERN floats over the ground, arms folded.
"Lightspeed," says Hal at the conclusion of the scene. "Not bad."
The script was apparently written back in 2011 by Marc Guggenheim - writer of the successful 'Arrow' TV series and the not-so-successful 'Green Lantern' movie. And while it's likely that Hal Jordan would have been played (once more) by Ryan Reynolds, don't let that put you off. Apparently, the script is rather entertaining… at least, according to those who have read it.

Of course, having the Green Lantern appear in 'The Flash' isn't exactly surprising - after all, both projects shared familiar faces amongst the creative team. With Marc Guggenheim, Greg Berlanti and Michael Green on board, it would have been a veritable banquet of DC's big players… two of which eventually went on to run the hit TV show 'Arrow'.
But is this the end for 'The Flash'? Perhaps not…
Rumours out of last year's San Diego Comic Con claimed that a Flash movie is still in active development and could be coming to our screens by 2016. Will this be a variant of the script we see before us? For now, we'll have to wait and see. But I can't help thinking it'll be something entirely new.
What do you think of Green Lantern's cameo in 'The Flash'? Will we still see a Flash movie by 2016? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
